Relief Restorations Inc.

Guarantee & Warranty Policy

Last Updated: October 2025

At Relief Restorations Inc., we take pride in the quality, safety, and professionalism of every project we complete. Our dedication to customer satisfaction, workmanship, and safety is central to our company values. Each project we undertake is unique, with its own conditions and challenges; however, our guarantees and limited warranties are designed to ensure that every client receives workmanship that meets or exceeds industry standards for restoration, remediation, and inspection services across Manitoba.

Satisfaction Guarantee

Relief Restorations stands behind the quality of its work and strives for complete client satisfaction. If you are dissatisfied with the workmanship or service quality of any work performed within the agreed-upon scope, we ask that you notify us in writing within five (5) business days of project completion. Upon receiving notice, our team will promptly review the concern, conduct an inspection, and, where applicable, correct or re-perform the affected portion of work at no additional cost.

This satisfaction guarantee applies exclusively to work completed directly by Relief Restorations Inc. employees. It does not extend to defects caused by client negligence, third-party contractors, pre-existing conditions, or environmental factors beyond our control. This is not a “money-back” guarantee but a commitment to rectify warranted workmanship issues through inspection, correction, or re-performance.

Water Damage Restoration and Drying Services

Our water damage restoration services include water extraction, structural drying, moisture mapping, disinfecting, sewage cleanup, and pathogen remediation. All work is carried out in accordance with IICRC S500 standards for professional water damage restoration, and we guarantee that moisture reduction and drying are achieved to the target readings documented at completion.

Because every water event is different, our guarantee does not cover subsequent or secondary damage that arises after completion, including new leaks, re-flooding, or failure to maintain humidity control. Hidden moisture in cavities or insulation may result in reappearance of dampness or odour if later disturbed. Similarly, disinfection in sewage or pathogen-affected areas is dependent on existing conditions and cannot be guaranteed beyond the treated zones.

Fire and Smoke Damage Restoration

Our fire and smoke restoration services encompass soot and residue removal, surface cleaning, odour control, and ULV or thermal fogging for deodorization. Work is completed using approved cleaning agents, HEPA filtration, and deodorization techniques consistent with recognized restoration standards.

While we guarantee the removal of soot and surface residues from accessible areas, we cannot guarantee complete elimination of odours from smoke, soot, or combustion residues. Odour behaviour is influenced by the building’s materials, air pathways, and structural configuration. ULV and thermal fogging are effective mitigation tools but are subject to variability in performance. Fire odour removal is therefore considered a best-effort process rather than a total elimination guarantee.

Mould Remediation and Inspection Services

Mould remediation and inspection services are performed following IICRC S520 and Health Canada best practices. All treated surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, HEPA vacuumed, and treated with antimicrobial solutions designed for mould control. Where post-remediation verification or air testing is included, results will meet the specified clearance criteria at the time of completion. If clearance testing fails, further remediation, disinfection and cleaning may be required and is subject to additional cost.

This guarantee is limited to the specific areas remediated by Relief Restorations. The appearance of new mould growth due to unresolved moisture intrusion, condensation, or ventilation issues is not covered. Treatments such as fogging or surface sealing are supplemental procedures and are not considered standalone remediation.

Asbestos Abatement, Testing, and Inventories

Relief Restorations performs asbestos abatement, encapsulation, inspections, sampling, and inventory documentation in strict accordance with Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health regulations. When air clearance testing is performed, re-occupancy limits will comply with the applicable provincial standards.

The guarantee for asbestos work covers the scope and condition at completion. It does not extend to re-contamination caused by subsequent trades, demolition, or other site activity. Encapsulated materials are warranted for sealing integrity at the time of completion; long-term durability depends on ongoing environmental conditions and subsequent maintenance. If clearance testing fails, further remediation, sealant and cleaning may be required and is subject to additional cost.

Vermiculite Removal

Vermiculite removal projects are performed under negative-pressure containment with HEPA filtration and approved waste handling procedures. We guarantee that visible vermiculite will be removed from accessible areas and that a visual clearance inspection will confirm completion. This guarantee excludes any concealed or inaccessible voids where removal is impracticable. If clearance testing fails, further remediation, sealant and cleaning may be required and is subject to additional cost.

Insulation Installation

Insulation work completed by Relief Restorations is installed to manufacturer specifications and in compliance with local building standards. Performance may vary depending on pre-existing air leakage, vapour barrier continuity, or thermal bridging that is not corrected within our scope of work. These external conditions fall outside the limits of warranty coverage.

Ceiling Stipple Removal

Our ceiling stipple removal process is carried out using appropriate containment and cleaning procedures. While we ensure full removal of textured coatings and thorough cleanup, minor surface imperfections, scuffs, or blemishes may occur due to substrate condition. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, subsequent sealing, priming, and painting are the client’s responsibility following completion.

Light Demolition

Light demolition services, such as the non-structural removal of walls, flooring, cabinetry, or finishes, are executed safely and to the limits specified in the agreed scope. Relief Restorations is not responsible for hidden structural, electrical, or hazardous conditions discovered during demolition or for issues that arise from elements outside our control.

Building or Structure Demolition

Building or structure demolition is performed in accordance with local and provincial regulations and executed with appropriate safety controls. Because each structure and site condition differ, Relief Restorations does not warrant outcomes related to pre-existing contamination, ground stability, or third-party restoration of the site following demolition.

In-House Reconstruction

Our reconstruction services; including drywalling, mudding, taping, flooring, ceilings, painting, and general interior restoration, are warranted for one (1) year from completion against defects in workmanship under normal use. This warranty excludes failures caused by water damage, damage, neglect, or subsequent modifications by other trades. Manufacturer warranties for materials, coatings, or fixtures apply independently and supersede our workmanship warranty where applicable.

Fogging Services

ULV and thermal fogging services are carried out using Health Canada–approved antimicrobial and deodorizing agents. These treatments are intended to control odour or microbial presence but cannot guarantee complete removal of persistent odours. Fogging should always be considered a supplemental process to thorough cleaning and source removal, not a substitute for either.

Contents Handling and Cleaning

Our contents division provides cleaning, ultrasonic washing, drying, pack-out, pack-back, and storage services. We guarantee that all items in our care will be handled with reasonable skill and diligence using industry-recognized methods. This guarantee does not cover pre-existing damage, inherent deterioration, or sentimental or high-value items unless separately inventoried. Stored contents are covered only under our standard contents care policy while in our custody.

Odour Removal

Odour removal work utilizes advanced deodorization and filtration systems combined with targeted chemical treatments. While we make every effort to neutralize odours, no guarantee is provided for odours originating from urine, gasoline, mould, chemical sources, and other odours, as contaminants can permanently bond with materials. Results depend on surface type, material porosity, and source severity.

Containment Systems

Containment systems are installed to control airborne particulates, dust, and cross-contamination during remediation. We guarantee containment integrity during the project but are not responsible for incidental paint or surface damage caused by tapes, adhesives, or fasteners required to secure barriers. Containment is secured by any means necessary for a safe remediation.

Building Inspection and Testing Services

All inspection, sampling, and testing services represent site conditions at the time of assessment. Findings are based on recognized testing methods and visual review, and are limited to the specific locations assessed. Because conditions can change after sampling, Relief Restorations cannot guarantee the absence of future issues or hidden conditions.

Disinfecting and Chemical Treatments

Our disinfecting services are performed according to manufacturer directions and applicable safety data guidelines. Treatments reduce microbial presence on treated surfaces but may not eliminate microorganisms in inaccessible voids or materials. Chemical compatibility varies among finishes; therefore, no warranty is made for unforeseen reactions or discolouration.

Equipment on Site and Client Responsibility

When drying, heating, air filtration, or other mitigation equipment is deployed on site, clients are responsible for maintaining power to the units, preventing interference, and ensuring that the equipment remains secure and operational at all times. Equipment must remain plugged in and functioning unless instructed otherwise by our technicians. Relief Restorations is not liable for incomplete drying, secondary damage, or delays caused by the equipment being unplugged, moved, or tampered with by anyone other than our staff. The client is responsible for protecting the equipment from theft, vandalism, pets, and children during the rental or operational period.

Product and Material Warranties

All materials, coatings, and products supplied by Relief Restorations are covered solely by their manufacturers’ warranties. We pass these warranties through to our clients without alteration or extension. Relief Restorations assumes no liability for product failure, manufacturer recalls, or discontinued lines once installation is complete.

Equipment Rentals

All rental equipment provided by Relief Restorations is tested and verified to be in good working condition prior to release. Equipment is rented “as is,” and Relief Restorations provides no additional warranty or guarantee of suitability for any specific purpose. Renters are fully responsible for loss, theft, misuse, or damage during the rental period and are expected to operate all equipment in accordance with provided instructions and safety guidelines.

Additional Warranty Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all guarantees and warranties offered by Relief Restorations Inc. These provisions ensure clarity, consistency, and fairness for both the client and the company and establish the framework within which warranty coverage is provided, reviewed, and maintained.

Warranty Duration and Transferability

All workmanship warranties provided by Relief Restorations commence on the official date of project completion, as documented in our final invoice or completion notice. Unless otherwise specified in writing, workmanship warranties remain valid for a period of one (1) year.

All warranties and guarantees are extended solely to the original contracting client named in the agreement, estimate, or invoice. They are non-transferable and automatically terminate upon the sale, lease, or transfer of ownership of the property. Relief Restorations assumes no obligation toward subsequent property owners, tenants, or third parties regarding past work completed under a prior client agreement.

Maintenance and Client Responsibilities

Our warranties are designed to ensure long-lasting quality, but continued performance depends on the proper care and maintenance of the property after work is completed. Clients are responsible for maintaining acceptable indoor humidity and temperature levels, ensuring adequate ventilation, and promptly addressing leaks, condensation, or other moisture sources that could affect the integrity of the completed work.

If conditions such as uncontrolled humidity, plumbing failures, poor ventilation, or structural deficiencies are not corrected, any resulting damage falls outside the scope of this warranty. Relief Restorations reserves the right to void warranty coverage when post-project neglect or environmental conditions compromise the completed work.

Third-Party Materials and Manufacturer Warranties

Relief Restorations frequently incorporates high-quality products, coatings, flooring, insulation, or materials provided by trusted manufacturers. While we guarantee proper installation and handling of these materials, the manufacturer’s warranty is the sole warranty applicable to the material itself.

Relief Restorations assumes no responsibility for manufacturer defects, recalls, or discontinued product lines after installation. Any issues related to manufacturing, formulation, or performance beyond installation quality must be pursued directly with the manufacturer under their published warranty terms.

Weather, Environmental, and Site Conditions

Our warranties do not cover damage or deterioration caused by extreme weather events, environmental exposure, or acts of nature. This includes but is not limited to flooding, sewer backup, hail, wind damage, snow accumulation, freeze–thaw cycles, foundation shifting, or other external forces beyond our control.

Work performed in crawlspaces, basements, or other moisture-prone areas is particularly susceptible to conditions outside the project scope. Relief Restorations’ responsibility ends once the agreed work is completed and verified in satisfactory condition at the time of departure.

Pre-Existing and Hidden Conditions

Relief Restorations’ warranties apply only to the work we complete and the conditions visible or known at the time of service. We do not guarantee or assume responsibility for pre-existing or hidden conditions such as underlying mould growth, concealed asbestos, corrosion, or structural issues that were not visible or accessible during our initial inspection or work.

If hidden damage or contamination is discovered during or after completion, further remediation or repair will be treated as additional work and quoted separately.

Alterations, Modifications, and Third-Party Work

Our warranties cover only the original work performed by Relief Restorations and remain valid only as long as the work is left undisturbed. Any alteration, repair, modification, or finishing work conducted by another contractor, trade, or homeowner voids our warranty with respect to the affected area.

Similarly, Relief Restorations does not warrant or assume liability for any work performed by subcontractors, referral partners, or independent trades not directly employed by us, even if they were recommended or referred to the client.

Inspection, Acceptance, and Notice of Deficiency

Upon project completion, Relief Restorations will perform a final walk-through or provide a completion report summarizing the work performed. Clients are responsible for reviewing the completed work and raising any concerns within five (5) business days.

Failure to report issues or deficiencies within this period constitutes full acceptance of the work and satisfaction with the results. Subsequent complaints will be evaluated at the company’s discretion and may be subject to additional service fees.

Access and Safety for Warranty Work

For warranty inspections, adjustments, or repairs to be completed, the client must provide safe, reasonable, and timely access to the property. Relief Restorations reserves the right to reschedule or decline warranty service if unsafe conditions exist, such as environmental hazards, aggressive pets, or ongoing renovation activities that prevent safe access.

Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

All warranties are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute related to this warranty shall be handled under the dispute resolution and governing law provisions outlined in the Relief Restorations Inc. Terms of Service.

Claims or proceedings must be filed in Winnipeg, Manitoba, unless otherwise required by law. Both parties agree to make reasonable efforts to resolve any matter amicably before pursuing legal remedies.

Insurance and Subrogation

This warranty operates independently of any property or business insurance policies. It does not modify or supersede coverage terms established by the client’s insurer. Relief Restorations is not responsible for insurance claim decisions, denials, or delays. Clients remain responsible for payment of all services rendered regardless of insurer reimbursement outcomes.

Digital Records and Project Documentation

All project records, including photos, moisture readings, air sampling data, and digital logs collected by Relief Restorations, form part of the official project documentation. These records serve as the authoritative record for evaluating warranty claims and verifying completion.

In the event of a dispute, Relief Restorations’ documented readings, inspection photographs, and digital records will take precedence over verbal recollections or undocumented claims.

No Implied Warranties

Except as specifically stated within this document, Relief Restorations provides no additional warranties; express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, durability, or fitness for a particular purpose. The company’s responsibility is limited to the specific warranties and remedies described herein.

Client-Supplied Materials

If clients choose to supply their own products or materials, such as paint, flooring, insulation, or fixtures, Relief Restorations provides no warranty on the performance, compatibility, or longevity of those materials. Should client-supplied materials fail or prove unsuitable for the conditions, the resulting repairs will not be covered under this policy.

Optional Extended Warranty and Maintenance Plans

Relief Restorations may, at its discretion, offer extended workmanship warranties or maintenance plans for specific projects or for purchase. These programs, when available, must be agreed upon in writing prior to project commencement and signed by both parties. Any extended coverage or scheduled maintenance plan is subject to its own terms and does not alter or extend standard warranty provisions.

Deviation from Standards and Procedures

Relief Restorations Inc. performs all restoration, remediation, and reconstruction services in accordance with applicable IICRC standards (including, but not limited to, S500, S520, and S700), Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health regulations, and other recognized industry best practices. Our warranties and guarantees are based on work being carried out under these established professional standards using approved procedures, containment methods, and chemical products.

If at any time a client, contractor, consultant, or third party requests that Relief Restorations deviate from these standards, whether by altering prescribed drying times, limiting containment, omitting recommended steps, using alternative or non-approved products, restricting chemical use, or performing work outside the recognized scope of safety or compliance, all warranties and guarantees associated with that work shall be immediately void.

In such cases, Relief Restorations will proceed only under written direction or authorization from the client acknowledging and accepting full responsibility for any resulting outcomes, limitations, or failures. No warranty, assurance, or guarantee, whether expressed or implied, shall apply to any portion of the work performed under these non-standard conditions.

This clause also applies when environmental, financial, or scheduling constraints prevent work from being executed according to established standards or manufacturer instructions. Under these circumstances, Relief Restorations expressly disclaims any liability for the performance, durability, or long-term results of the affected work.

Exclusions

Certain limitations apply to all guarantees and warranties. Relief Restorations is not responsible for any work performed by subcontractors, referred businesses, or other contractors not directly employed by us. Warranty coverage does not apply to any work that has been modified, disturbed, or covered after completion. Failures caused by subsequent water intrusion, humidity, condensation, or poor ventilation are excluded. Likewise, consequential losses such as lost income, project delays, or loss of use are not covered. Minor cosmetic variations that naturally occur in restoration or repainting, including sheen or texture differences, are expected and do not constitute defects. Acts of nature, vandalism, abuse, and neglect are also excluded.

Making a Warranty or Guarantee Claim

Our team will arrange an inspection within five (5) business days and provide written findings or corrective options if the claim is valid.
