Decontamination Equipment
Decontamination Unit
A staged enclosure where workers and equipment are cleaned before leaving an asbestos work area.
What it does and why it is used
For higher-risk asbestos work, a decontamination unit provides staged chambers - typically a dirty room, a shower, and a clean room - so that workers and equipment are decontaminated before they leave the containment. It prevents fibres from being carried out of the regulated work area.
Typical restoration applications
- Worker and equipment decontamination during asbestos abatement
- Maintaining the integrity of a regulated work area
